Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has dominated the martial art world for the past twelve years and is now recognized as the fastest growing martial art in the world. Jiu-Jitsu is more then self-defense, it’s also a great sport, and produces some of the top athletes in the world and also a way to a healthier life.
These programs consist of Beginner and Advanced Self-Defense techniques. You will learn throwing, submission grappling, simple hold down positions. This program also entails the Cardio-Aerobic program as well, so getting into shape will not be something to worry about. Leg (achilles tenant), ankle and knee submissions are also introduced. Strangulation and choking techniques (children do not learn these until first promotion, for safety reasons) are all a part of learning this dominating martial art. Reversals, escapes and counter sweeps all uniquely fit into place too. Balance will also be a key factor in learning this beautiful style of self-defense. If you’re looking to get into shape, have the desire to learn how to fall down and escape an uncomfortable situation, instill self esteem, confidence and self-discipline, then this is the program for you. Your motivation and outlook on life will have a positive power boost.

Muay Thai
Muay Thai (also known as Thai boxing) is a martial art that originated in Thailand but shares some similarities with western kickboxing. Making use of punches, kicks and elbow and knee strikes, Muay Thai gives the whole body a demanding workout. Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport and is often referred to as the ‘science of eight limbs’. This refers to the use of the hands, elbows, feet and knees during combat. Muay Thai can be practised by men, women and children.

Yoga
Relax and flow. Badgerland offers a slow tempo yoga class that calms the mind while generating heat. Beginers are always welcome!
